Our Services

Consulting Services

The European Documentation Centre organizes seminars at the initiative of partner universities and with the support of CED. The topics of the events cover issues of mutual interest, including the reform of higher education in Central Asia, the formation of a common educational space in the region, as well as the development of cooperation with European universities and relevant organizations. The seminars are aimed at sharing experience, discussing current challenges and developing joint solutions in the field of education.

Questionnaires and comparative analyses

The European Documentation Centre (EDC) conducts questionnaire surveys on topical issues related to improving the quality of education. The questions may be aimed at studying one or several issues of importance for Central Asian HEIs. The collected answers are systematized and included in the analytical database of the CED. For issues of special interest, the Centre prepares and publishes a comparative analysis of the situation in selected countries of the region, providing stakeholders with substantiated conclusions and recommendations.

Publication activities

The European Documentation Centre carries out regular and thematic publication activities. The periodicals include information on current events in leading international universities as well as the annual Activity Report of the Centre. In addition, CED produces ad hoc publications to coincide with thematic seminars and events, highlighting key ideas, conclusions and recommendations from expert discussions.

Research work

Joint research work with European think tanks and academic centres on regional cooperation in Central Asia. The research projects aim to study transboundary processes, sustainable development, water and environmental initiatives, digital transformation, and strengthening the dialogue between the EU and the countries of the region.

Funding of activities

At the initial stage, the work of the European Documentation Centre was carried out with the financial support of the Delegation of the European Union in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as partially at the expense of the resources of universities, on the basis of which the Centres operate. Currently, the participation of the EDC in international projects, including within the Erasmus+ programme, provides indirect funding for its activities. As a rule, the Centre is included in project consortia as a partner responsible for information support, dissemination of results and interaction with stakeholders.
