The European Documentation Centre was established in 2005 on the initiative of the Embassy of the European Union in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is a Regional international network in Central Asia for research and documentation, whose purpose is to facilitate cooperation between teachers and staff of Central Asian universities and the European Union, responsible for collecting and disseminating information, as well as for advisory work.

The European Documentation Centre (EDC) is a regional platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation between universities in Central Asia and the European Union. Since 2005, the Centre has been promoting best practices in higher education, supporting international academic projects, and providing expert consultations on quality assurance and curriculum development.
EDC organizes seminars, conducts analytical research, publishes reports and reviews, and actively participates in international programs, including Erasmus+. It also assists universities in developing project proposals and implementing innovative approaches in education.
